Mechanism for return of students ‘specified’

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti Ministry of Education issued on Monday a circular specifying the mechanism for the return of students to school, according to certain regulation­s.

The Ministry stated through its official account on the social networking site Twitter in this regard that the kindergart­en classes are subject to technical guidance, in which time is allocated to activities.

Regarding the primary stage, she explained that there will be five lessons, and the period of the lesson is 60 minutes, while the intermedia­te and secondary stages have six lessons and the period of the lesson is 60 minutes.

She said that students in schools for all educationa­l levels are divided into two groups of five days in two weeks for each group, with the first week working three days for the first group and two days for the second group, and for the second week, three days for the second group and two days for the first group.

It indicated that it is allowed to enter the school after verifying the health requiremen­ts and submitting a negative PCR examinatio­n result every week to those who have not received the vaccinatio­n for both school workers and students SOP aged 21 years and over, visitors and parents showing a negative PCR examinatio­n result that does not exceed 72 hours for those not vaccinated.

She pointed out that it applies to what was stated in the documents of the various educationa­l stages and its amendments regarding evaluation / absence, and what was mentioned in this decision applies to schools of public education, religious education, adult education centers, private schools in private education, and special education schools that apply the general education curriculum.

Al-Tariba said that the Undersecre­tary of the Ministry issues all necessary decisions to amend any provisions or issue bulletins required to implement the decision, noting that it will be implemente­d from the beginning of the 2021-2022 academic year until further notice, and all competent authoritie­s must implement it and work according to it.
