Info min chairs meet on digital transformation
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 8, (KUNA): Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi chaired on Tuesday the second meeting of the Supreme Committee to follow up on procedures related to digital transformation in all agencies affiliated with the minister in the two ministries at the headquarters of the Public Authority for Sports, in the presence of all its committee members.
Rapporteur Sultan Al-Dosari said in a press statement that the meeting discussed the plans and procedures of each of these parties regarding digital transformation, coordination among them, and cooperation with the Central Agency for Information Technology, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister regarding achieving digital transformation in all areas of state institutions.
Al-Dosari added that Minister AlMutairi stressed during the meeting the need to set a specific operational timeline to accomplish this digital transformation for each party and to follow up on its procedures to implement this matter, indicating that digital transformation is an urgent necessity in light of the great development in this field.
He explained that the focus on expanding the use of technology comes in implementation of the strategy of the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs and the rest of their affiliates by introducing technology and artificial intelligence in all their work in order to facilitate work, reduce the documentary cycle and provide a distinguished service to the public in light of the growing use of the Internet in the country.
The meeting was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information Munira Al-Huwaidi, Director of the General Sports Authority Hammoud Fleiteh, Acting Secretary-General of the National Council, Dr. Issa AlAnsari, Deputy Director-General of the Information Technology Authority, Dr. Ammar Al-Husseini, and Deputy Director-General of the Public Authority for Youth Mishaal Al-Subaie.
