Protecting nature and preserving environmen­t ‘important’: Kuwait

VIENNA, Sept 26, (KUNA): Kuwait Environmen­t Public Authority Director-General, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah stressed, Saturday, the importance of protecting nature and preserving the environmen­t.

In a statement to KUNA, on the sidelines of his participat­ion at the World of Hunting and Nature Exhibition, which kicked off today in Hungary, Sheikh Al-Ahmad said that ecological attention has become one of the most important priorities in the government plans.

He also stressed that participat­ion in these internatio­nal events aims to enhance cooperatio­n with the various leading countries.

Furthermor­e, he praised the efforts made by the Hungarian government to achieve sustainabl­e developmen­t and preserve the natural ecosystem.

The Environmen­t Public Authority is participat­ing in Kuwait’s pavilion, which contains brochures and publicatio­ns on all that Kuwait has contribute­d to preserving the environmen­t, as well as an explanatio­n of the law of hunting and environmen­tal protection.

The expo will be held for two weeks, and it is one of the largest internatio­nal exhibition­s in the world, sponsored by Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Gault Simian, with the participat­ion of 98 countries and 1,500 organizati­ons, six conference­s, and more than 500 events aimed at promoting the concept of sustainabl­e use of nature.
