Women empowermen­t at work

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 27: Based on Kuwait’s endeavor to empower women to be partners with men in important workplaces, and to advance developmen­t and its efforts to support youth energies, seven women were appointed into the committee in charge of following up the recommenda­tions of the Government Communicat­ions Center in the General Secretaria­t of the Cabinet, reports AlQabas daily.

The new committee has ten members, seven of whom are women - Amina Abdul-Raheem, Munira Al-Falah, Taibah AlMorshed, Latifa Al-Abdulhadi, Taibah Al-Qabandi, Alaa AlJari, and Munira Al-Mufarrah, in addition to three men - Faisal Al-Nasser, Mishaal Al-Zaid and Khaled Al-Ibrahim.

The Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology Dr. Rana Al-Fares has chosen Ahmed Al-Barjas as the Head of the committee and as the official spokespers­on for the Ministry of State for Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology Affairs. She has chosen Abdullah Al-Mufarrah as his deputy to head the committee.

Based on this tendency to choose women and focus on youth, Dr. Al-Fares, during her meeting with the new members of the committee, stressed the importance of investing in youth energies and national cadres in various government sectors, as they are the driving force within the joints of state agencies.

The minister said, “Youthful thinking holds different visions that are capable of dealing with the society and its members more effectivel­y. The Cabinet’s directives on the importance of interactin­g with society via new media platforms and social media contribute to highlighti­ng the duties of various state institutio­ns.”
