One month window for transfers

-

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: The General Department of Police Force Affairs announced the reopening of the website as of October 1, for a period of one month, for those who wish to cancel or amend their transfer request or submit a new request, pointing out that no requests will be received after the deadline, reports Al-Rai daily.

Reliable sources said the decision came based on the directives of the Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali and followup of the issue by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf, on the need to take into account the human and social dimension of the security establishment’s employees, and in conjunction with the desire of some of them to cancel the transfer request that was previously submitted by a precedent to benefit from the years of experience in his workplace.

The sources explained if the transfer decision is implemented, years of experience will not be used in disbursing the allowance.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Court acquitted an inmate in the Central Prison of possessing heroin for personal consumption and violating prison regulations, reports AlSeyassah daily.

Earlier, the Public Prosecution charged the inmate with possessing heroin for personal consumption, without verifying if a final ruling has been issued against him in another drug felony case that stipulate a punishment of imprisonment for three years and three months.

Case files indicate that an officer at Central Prison testified seeing the accused heading to his cell after being discharged from the prison hospital. The officer said he approached the accused and then noticed a box beside the latter.
