Bid to up co-op in educational fields, prepare for a ‘safe’ return to schools
MoE’s Dr Al-Yaqoub meets with chief of Arab Education Office
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28, (KUNA): Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr Ali Al-Yaqoub, discussed on Monday with the Director-General of Arab Education Office for the Gulf StatesRiyadh Dr Abdulrahman Al-Asimi ways to enhance cooperation in the educational fields and prepare for a safe return to schools in light of the corona pandemic and the challenges it posed to the education system in the GCC countries.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the meeting, Al-Yaqoub affirmed Kuwait’s interest in enhancing prospects of scientific and research cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in all scientific and educational fields and ways to enhance the concept of quality education.
He congratulated Dr Al-Asimi on the occasion of his appointment as Director General of the Arab Education Office for the States of the Gulf Council Riyadh, wishing him success in his new duties.
For his part, Al-Asimi expressed, in a similar statement to KUNA, his happiness with this visit and meeting with officials in the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education, praising the efforts made by the State of Kuwait for the safe return to schools.
He stressed the importance of exchanging experiences in the field of planning for a safe return to schools, indicating that this visit embodies the principle of joint action among the GCC states.
He praised the measures taken by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Health in this regard to speed up the return to school.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Arab Center for Educational Research in Kuwait, Dr Suleiman Al-Askari, and a number of leaders of the Ministry of Education.
