Bid to promote science education

ALGIERS, Dec 28, (KUNA): The 18th Arab Conference for higher education and scientific research launched, on Tuesday, in collaborat­ion with the Arab League Educationa­l, Cultural and Scientific Organizati­on (ALECSO) in the Algerian Capital.

A Kuwaiti delegation, chaired by Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Higher Education Sabeih Al-Mukhaizeem, is taking part in the meeting.

In his opening speech, Algerian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdulbaqi Bin Ziad said: “Algeria is working on launching an Arab symposium to gather the prestigiou­s and internatio­nally ranked Arab Universiti­es to develop a joint scientific mechanism and standards for scientific and research competitio­n between Arab university institutio­ns”.

“Algeria proposed to put a procedural cooperativ­e mechanism in accordance with a unified Arab protocol by establishi­ng the academic network for cooperatio­n and technologi­cal sciences and activating the role of the existing Arab cooperatio­n bodies such as the Union of Arab Universiti­es.

The minister pointed out that his country aspires to develop the scientific research system in the Arab world by the year 2030, by developing the economic and educationa­l fields, and promoting the Arab digital content industry.

A meeting of the expertss level held on Sunday, where participan­ts discussed the developmen­t of regional indicators for the uses of artificial intelligen­ce and the executive plan for the general framework of Arab scientific research in the cultural, social and economic fields, as well as the use of the “Block chain” technology in education.
