Bid to promote science education
ALGIERS, Dec 28, (KUNA): The 18th Arab Conference for higher education and scientific research launched, on Tuesday, in collaboration with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in the Algerian Capital.
A Kuwaiti delegation, chaired by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education Sabeih Al-Mukhaizeem, is taking part in the meeting.
In his opening speech, Algerian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdulbaqi Bin Ziad said: “Algeria is working on launching an Arab symposium to gather the prestigious and internationally ranked Arab Universities to develop a joint scientific mechanism and standards for scientific and research competition between Arab university institutions”.
“Algeria proposed to put a procedural cooperative mechanism in accordance with a unified Arab protocol by establishing the academic network for cooperation and technological sciences and activating the role of the existing Arab cooperation bodies such as the Union of Arab Universities.
The minister pointed out that his country aspires to develop the scientific research system in the Arab world by the year 2030, by developing the economic and educational fields, and promoting the Arab digital content industry.
A meeting of the expertss level held on Sunday, where participants discussed the development of regional indicators for the uses of artificial intelligence and the executive plan for the general framework of Arab scientific research in the cultural, social and economic fields, as well as the use of the “Block chain” technology in education.
