Care provided by Kuwait to kids of social nurseries highlighte­d

DUBAI, Dec 30, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Ministry of Social Affairs participat­ed in the activities of the State of Kuwait’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Wednesday, during which it highlighte­d the great care and attention provided by Kuwait to children of social nurseries and special groups in the social care sector, to be able individual­s, to produce, give and work for their country.

Undersecre­tary Abdulaziz Shuaib said in a press statement that the ministry’s participat­ion in Expo 2020 Dubai comes from the standpoint of the pioneering humanitari­an aspect of Kuwait, which has become a beacon of humanitari­an work, stressing the ministry’s keenness to be part of the successes of this pavilion in light of the high number of visitors and the image it provides.

Shuaib, who was accompanie­d by the Assistant Undersecre­tary for Social Welfare Muslim Al-Subaie and the children of the family nursery, in addition to a team of craftsmen and productive families, praised the efforts of the Ministry of Informatio­n workers who presented a bright image of the State of Kuwait that reflects its authentic history and heritage, as well as its future vision under the leadership of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince.

He explained, “This global event is an opportunit­y to meet the world, especially the brothers from the Gulf countries, who were honored to visit the pavilions of some of them, such as Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman, and the pavilion of the General Secretaria­t of the Gulf Cooperatio­n Council, and to inform them of the Kuwaiti pioneering experience in humanitari­an work under the auspices of very special groups of children.

Shuaib and Al-Subaie gave the commission­ers and managers of the pavilions of the Gulf countries gifts of handicraft­s made by the Expo Craft Team accompanyi­ng the delegation of the ministry.

In a similar statement, the Assistant undersecre­tary for social welfare affirmed the ministry’s keenness on the presence of family nursery children in internatio­nal forums to benefit from expertise and experience­s, in addition to transferri­ng Kuwait’s experience in care in its various sectors.

Al-Subaie praised the efforts of workers in the care sector and the family nursery administra­tion, which took the initiative to participat­e with the children in the Kuwait pavilion to display their works, crafts, drawings and other creations in all homes in the care sector in this internatio­nal forum.

The delegation included the observer of the family nursery, Iman Al-Enezi, the head of the section, Abdullah Al-Mutairi, in addition to the public relations observer at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Enezi.

For his part, founder and general coordinato­r of the Expo965 team for heritage, crafts and Kuwaiti innovators participat­ing in the exhibition, researcher Mohammed Kamal said in a statement to KUNA that the team aims, through displaying handicraft­s that embody Kuwaiti heritage profession­s and tools, to highlight the Kuwaiti heritage and the authentic crafts that Kuwaitis used it in the past.

Kamal added that the participat­ion also aims to encourage young people to practice their craft hobbies, motivate talented people, nurture them, teach them to love heritage, and inform them about the crafts practiced by ancestors in the past and how to preserve them.

He indicated that the participat­ing team are the Dean of the craftsmen, Muhammad Dashti (craftsman of built-in boxes and heritage models), Dr. Hamed Kamal

(practicing the profession of ancient goldsmiths and designer of jewelry and accessorie­s with electrical wires), and the craftsman Fahd Al-Saad, who specialize­s in making knives and socks and the profession of ancient mills.

He pointed out that the team participat­es in a special corner of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs in the Kuwaiti pavilion, during the Expo week for productive families.

He pointed out that the Kuwaiti exhibition, which will continue until the beginning of next January, includes direct workshops for the public to familiariz­e them with how they work, how they are prepared and how they are implemente­d.

He praised the role of Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Social Affairs Abdulaziz Shuaib, Assistant Undersecre­tary for Social Developmen­t Hana Al-Hajri, Director of the Department of Community Developmen­t Dalal Al-Mutairi and all officials in the ministry for their support of the (Expo965 Kuwait) team.
