‘Allowance’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: Assistant Undersecretary for Drugs and Medical Equipment Affairs at the Health Ministry Dr Abdullah Al-Badr said the ministry has coordinated with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) regarding the pharmacist profession in order to approve the financial allowance for each job level to encourage nationals to continue specializing in this field to improve performance and health services, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Badr explained this came after the meetings of the Committee on Studying the Pharmacist Profession for Pharmacist Qualification, and based on the joint vision of the ministry, College of Pharmacy in Kuwait University and Kuwait Pharmaceutical Society.

Ministry of Education Undersecretary Dr Ali Al-Yacoub recently issued a directive to exclude applicants for the position of cleaner from the educational qualification condition of intermediate certificate or lower, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources.

According to sources, the undersecretary took this step after the ministry faced a problem in the recruitment of cleaners as a large number of applicants hold higher education certificates, while the condition is intermediate certificate or lower.

Sources pointed out this exception will contribute to ongoing efforts to solve the recruitment problem, particularly those who hold high school diplomas or higher. Sources said they will be satisfied with signing a pledge to not demand for changing their appointment to higher positions later.

Sources affirmed the undersecretary’s decision will open the door for receiving more applicants, which will solve the lack of cleaning workers in schools.

Sources added the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has agreed to complete the procedures for appointing 323 cleaners under the fixed-salary contract system, indicating the salary of these cleaners is KD190.

Sources stated it is expected that these 323 cleaners will start working within two to three weeks; because the ministry is racing against time to fill the shortage of cleaners in schools, especially with the implementation of health regulations aimed at curbing the spread of corona.
