Bhavans IES wins International Vann Mitra Award 2021
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: Bhavans Indian Education School, Kuwait, emerges victorious in ‘Vasudha International – A Quest for Sustainable Development’ conducted by City Montessori School, Rajendra Nagar, Lucknow, in collaboration with the United Nations Information Center (UNIC) for India and Bhutan on 13 and 14 December 2021. The team Climate Trackers consisting of Aaron Anil Thomas of 9D, Kevin Prince of 9 D, Kiran Varghese of 9E and M. Mujtaba Ali of 9E bagged the elevated Vann Mitra Award 2021.
The competition was conducted at 3 levels. 15 local teams from the state of Uttar Pradesh participated at local level, 12 schools from various Indian states partook at the national and 12 schools from different countries took part at the international level.
The project submitted by Climatic Trackers focused on the management of plastic waste in Kuwait and aimed at spreading awareness among people through posters and social media platforms. It also initiated better waste management facilities like placing separate litterbins for plastic waste. As part of the project, the details pertaining to the effective ways of waste management and the adverse effects of plastic were included in informative and interesting videos to gain the public’s attention and support. Long two months of grit, hard work and patience had helped the team to successfully submit the acclaimed project on November 30, 2021 and achieve the glorious award on December 14, 2021.
The team ambassador and guide was Nagarajan Murugesh, a teacher of the Department of Social Science. The pre-eminence of the team in the event was made possible with the able guidance of the Principal, the Vice-Principals of Senior and Middle wings and the Heads of the Department of Social Science- Senior and Middle wings, IES. The management and the senior leadership team congratulated Team Climate Trackers for the impressive achievement.
