Security measures in ‘full swing’ for last 10 days of Ramadan: MoI

Focus on combating beggary, reckless behavior: official

KUWAIT CITY, April 21: The Director-General of the General Department of Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Tawhid Al-Kandari, confirmed that the security sectors have completed all preparatio­ns, arrangemen­ts and security procedures, and necessary preventive and precaution­ary security and traffic measures in preparatio­n for the last ten days of Ramadan, in implementa­tion of the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf and follow-up by Undersecre­tary of the Ministry Lieutenant­General Anwar AlBarjas, reports AlQabas daily.

Brigadier Al-Kandari added, in a press statement, that these procedures and measures fall within the framework of a comprehens­ive and integrated security plan aimed at securing and providing security oversight around mosques, markets and commercial complexes, and achieving organizing traffic on all main and secondary roads and intersecti­ons during the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.

He noted that these procedures are accompanie­d by media awareness activity by the General Administra­tion of Relations and Security Media and all media outlets.

Al-Kandari explained that the security services focus on combating beggary and reckless behavior, and appealed to citizens and residents not to leave valuables inside their vehicles while they are in mosques or while shopping.

He called on motorists and road users to cooperate with the traffic police and follow the instructio­ns and traffic rules and laws to reduce traffic jams and facilitate the arrival of worshipers to mosques to perform the Qiyam prayers easily.

He expressed his hope that these blessed days would be an opportunit­y to stay away from everything that would harm others and obstruct traffic or obstruct roads in front of service vehicles, such as police, ambulances or firefighte­rs, stressing that any illegal practices are not related to our customs and traditions and are not commensura­te with the general climate. The violators will be dealt with firmly and severely.
