Indian Embassy organizes Easter concert, a musical evening by KCC
KUWAIT CITY, April 23: Embassy of India in Kuwait recently organized ‘Easter Concert; celebrating India’s Unity in Diversity’ a musical evening by Kuwait Chamber Chorale (KCC) at the Embassy auditorium which was attended by large number of ambassadors resident in Kuwait and also Indian community members.
The event began with the singing of India’s National Anthem and melodious songs on the occasion of Easter in multiple languages and also patriotic songs such as ‘Vande Matharam’ and ‘Sare Jahan se Accha’.
In his inaugural address HE Ambassador Sibi George highlighted India’s unity in diversity and its civilizational ethos. He said Indians celebrate all festivals which symbolizes India’s unity in diversity of which all Indians are proud of. Highlighting the unique values of the constitution of India, ambassador said that every child in India is free to pursue his/her dream or follow his/ her passion thanks to the constitution which guarantees Justice - social, economic and political; Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; and Equality of status and of opportunity.
The Ambassador also highlighted that Indians in Kuwait are a cross section of India representing its rich and varied culture adding that the community members are contributing immensely in the economic development of Kuwait, and have become an integral part of the socio-cultural and economic fabric of Kuwait. He thanked the Indian community for its contributions in promoting the vibrant India-Kuwait bilateral relations which has evolved into a long-standing dynamic partnership.
He also pointed out the unity within the Indian community which was displayed in its fullness during the devastating Covid-19 pandemic when Indian community joined hands with the Embassy to help each other transcending our religions, linguistic and regional differences in the fight against the virus and the role played by Indian medical professionals in Kuwait, particularly doctors and nurses always who always stand out in times like this. He added Kuwait’s story of fight against Covid 19 and the contributions of Indian doctors and nurses, as frontline warriors, will be written in golden letters.
