Gujarat leads IPL; Bangalore out

-

MUMBAI, India, April 24, (AP): An outstanding effort by Andre Russell went in vain when Gujarat Titans beat his Kolkata Knight Riders by eight runs in the Indian Premier League.

Russell smacked 48 runs off 25 deliveries and took four wickets in an over, but Kolkata faltered in its chase in the death overs.

In the day’s second game, Sunrisers Hyderabad routed Royal Challengers Bangalore by nine wickets for a fifth successive win.

Bangalore was all out for 68, the sixth lowest total in IPL history, and Hyderabad needed only 7.4 overs to win.

Gujarat was atop of the standings, Hyderabad second on run rate, Bangalore fourth and Kolkata seventh after a fourth straight loss.
