Will Eid prayer be held in open?

-

KUWAIT CITY, April 25: Between the ban and permission, there were only a few hours during which statements differed about the justification for the ban and for reversing the decision, reports Al-Rai daily.

This was the case about reports on prohibiting the establishment of Eid prayer areas outside the mosques, such as stadiums and public squares. Some Imams were quoted as saying that the Ministry of Awqaf informed them it is forbidden to hold Eid prayers in the squares and such activity is restricted to mosques only.

It was a short novel, as Minister

of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Issa Al-Kandari hastened to announce: “This year, Eid prayers will be held in mosques, youth centers and squares in order to revive the honorable Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH).”

While it was reported that the decision to ban Eid prayers outside the mosques was issued by the Ministry of Interior for security reasons; MP Fayez Al-Jumhur confirmed that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf agreed during their telephone call to allow holding Eid prayers outside the mosques.
