DGCA ‘earmarks’ 2.6 million dinars

-

KUWAIT CITY, April 25; The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has allocated 2.6 million dinars for the signing of a contract with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for a period of 5 years for advisory services and technical and operational support, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The DGCA has reportedly informed the supervisory authorities regarding direct contracting with ICAO, and the Central Agency for Central Tenders has agreed after listening to the testimony of specialists, explaining that the procedures for the documentary session are being completed with the rest of the supervisory authorities to obtain official approvals.

The sources pointed out that the contract request came from what is represented by the “ICAO” in the United Nations system, which is concerned with civil aviation affairs and international air transport, and its great role in helping countries to cooperate and achieve a global air transport network characterized by safety and security.

The sources stated that a joint strategy will be put in place to develop operational and technical services to serve the air transport market, as well as the infrastructure of Kuwait International Airport, coinciding with the establishment of the new airport T2.

The sources indicated that the DGCA seeks to make the new airport a regional air hub and to provide the highest standards of efficiency through services that ensure high levels of comfort for passengers.
