-

KUWAIT CITY, April 27: Director of the Electrical Emergency Department Eng. Adel Mahmoud announced the arrival of 36 diesel generators of various sizes into the country in preparation for dealing with the peak season, reports Al-Anba daily.

In an exclusive press statement recently, Eng. Mahmoud explained that these generators are among 44 generators that were contracted to increase the number of diesel electric generators that the ministry uses during times of outages, especially in the peak season.

Received

A total of 12 generators of 180 kVA have been received so far, while 12 others of 320 kVA, 12 generators of 500 kVA, 3 large generators of 1,800 kVA, and 5 generators of the same size are expected to be delivered next month.

All the generators that have been received are currently undergoing the testing process in preparation for their entry into service during the peak season. This will raise the number to 184 generators that will be ready to face any outages, support the ministry’s direction in maintaining the electrical supply and continue to provide all customers with the necessary service.

Regarding whether diesel generators were used during the month of Ramadan, Eng. Mahmoud said they were used for some official receptions.

As for the interruptions, he revealed that they are minor and do not require the use of the generators, as the temperatures are still moderate, and therefore the electricity pressures are still at low rates.
