Visa-free entry for Kuwaitis begins May 1

-

KUWAIT CITY, March 28: The government of the Republic of Korea has announced that it will resume visa-free entry for Kuwait nationals, says a press release issued by the Korean Embassy in Kuwait.

Starting May 1, 2022, Kuwaiti nationals will be able to visit the Republic of Korea by applying for K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization), a travel permission granted to foreign nationals intending to enter the Republic of Korea without a visa. The duration is 90 days if the purpose of the trip is for tourism, treatment, business meeting, attend a conference, or visiting families or relatives.

Kuwaitis intending to enter the Republic of Korea without a visa are required to provide personal and travel-related information through the K-ETA homepage website or the mobile app at least 72 hours before boarding the flight. *Website URL: www.k-eta.go.kr *Mobile App: m.k-eta.go.kr

The K-ETA will be valid for up to two years from the date of obtainment and available for multiple trips during their period of validity as long as the uploaded personal information does not change.

Additionally, travelers with the K-ETA will be exempt from submitting arrival cards enabling them to pass through immigration swiftly.

Applicants can receive the results by e-mail within 72 hours after completing the applications

The newly introduced system will further promote personal exchanges between the Republic of Korea and the State of Kuwait.

Cash for leave: The number of oil sector workers who will benefit from the decision to allow them to convert their unused vacation days into cash reached 19,000 or 90 percent of the workforce, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.

This came after the chief executive officers (CEOs) approved the terms and conditions for leave encashment in the oil sector; in preparation for submission to Kuwait Petroleum Corporation’s board of directors after the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, sources added.

Sources said the meeting of the managing directors and CEOs ended with approval of the job performance evaluation of employees with a rating of ‘good’ and above. Sources revealed this is one of the conditions to benefit from the leave encashment, while the required years of service is at least five years and 30 days.

‘Device repaired’: Any medical device in health and specialized centers, as well as public hospitals, could malfunction any time; so the concerned teams are always ready to carry out their duties without delay to ensure those with appointments and those hospitalized do not suffer, reports AlQabas daily quoting sources.

Sources explained to the daily that the breakdown of the radiation device at Hussein Makki Juma Center for Specialized Surgery did not last long, as the technical team repaired it immediately. Sources affirmed the device was fully functional by Wednesday and all those with appointments on that day got tested.

Sources asserted that medical devices and supplies in all health facilities are subject to periodic maintenance in order to prevent breakdowns and to ensure they continue to perform with high efficiency and quality.

Sources pointed out the suppliers of medical devices are usually committed to providing free warranty for certain years, starting from the date of actual operation. Sources confirmed such warranty covers the spare parts, accessories, consumables, and any other additions necessary to carry out maintenance operations for the devices and update them from time to time.

Meanwhile, sources said the Ministry of Health has obtained approval from the regulatory authorities regarding the maintenance of 61 medical devices inclusive of spare parts from April 1, 2023 to March 31 2024 at a total cost of KD243,000; in addition to conducting maintenance for 395 sterilization devices in health facilities at a cost of KD1.6 million.
