Social Affairs keen to share joys of inmates on all occasions – official
KUWAIT CITY, May 7, (KUNA): The Assistant Undersecretary for the Social Welfare Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Musallam Al-Subaie, has affirmed the ministry’s keenness to be present in social care homes on all occasions and to share inmates their joys.
In a press statement after his tour of the social care homes in the Farah Center for the Elderly, the Juvenile Care Department and the Children’s Home, Al-Subaie said that the ministry, as usual, shares the joy of inmates on all occasions to bring joy and pleasure in their souls, as gifts were distributed to them, congratulating them on the blessed Eid al-Fitr.
He added that such visits would highlight the positive and humanitarian role played by the State of Kuwait in caring for the various groups hosted by the Ministry of Affairs, in addition to providing psychological and social care to inmates of social care homes.
He stressed the keenness of Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to be present in care homes after a two-year hiatus due to the corona pandemic, indicating that visits have now been opened and activity resumed to provide services and inmates practice their social lives as usual after life returns to normal.
For his part, Director of the Juvenile Welfare Department, Dr. Jassim AlKandari, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this visit included extending congratulations and blessings to the inmates, which is an annual and continuous habit.
Al-Kandari mentioned that the Juvenile Care Home has some programmes, activities and events offered to inmates on Eid with the aim of investing their spare time and preparing them for the outside community after their period with the home has passed.
