‘Right decision taken at right time, in right place ... will bring success’

- — Compiled by Zaki Taleb

“WE often look at the conditions of some countries, societies or even companies and see that they have moved from the stage of corruption to the stage of reform and fighting corruption,” columnist Talal Manizil Al-Enezi wrote for Al-Rai daily.

“We find the country that was at the top of the list of corruption perceptions and all manifestations of financial corruption such as embezzlement, theft and commissions, today these countries top the list of countries combating corruption, promoting the principle of transparency and establishing the principles of reform.

“Also at the level of companies, we find many that were suffering from losses and debts but now have become sources of profitability and overcome losses and paid off debts.

“Even at the level of communities, homes and families, the reform process never stops. What is the common denominator between reform of states, companies and families?

“It is the decision, yes, the decision is the key to reform. If the state takes the right, sound and strong decision to combat corruption, fight the corrupt, stop the series of thefts in public tenders, and stop the series of benefits, commissions and payments from under the table, the reform process will revolve and we will move from the stage of corruption to the stage of reform.

“Therefore, the decision is the magic key to the reform process, reform in the state and at all political, economic, sports and other levels, as well as reform in companies, societies and even our homes and with our children, as long as there is a correct, decisive and firm decision taken.

“Failure to take correct, sound and decisive decisions is the fertile environment for corruption in all its forms.

“In a report from international organizations, they diagnosed the problem of Kuwait as suffering from a lack of vision and an absence of decision-making, so we suffer from the quagmire of corruption in which we live due to lack of decision-making process.

“In short, reform is a decision, change is a decision, success is a decision, excellence is a decision.

“I hope that our government understands the importance of the decision and makes the right decision at the right time, in the right place, then we will see the change, progress and success that we will reach.

“Honorable Minister of Higher Education a while ago, one of our students was exposed to an attack in America, and the Cultural Office in Washington was aware of this, and the student was forced to move to another university in another state.

“We hope that His Excellency the Minister will direct his instructions to the Cultural Office to bear the costs of the university that the student had to leave.”

“A successful media person is someone who is a mentor, not a vocalist, and works to promote goodwill between the brothers,” columnist Dr Ahmed Al-Essa wrote for Al-Jarida daily.

“He is also the one who works to expedite the transformation of our council’s projects such as the unified currency, movement and work between countries without obstacles. Will this dream come true?

“The Gulf people will remain brothers and one people, and I do not think that their souls bear malice and hatred for each other, no matter how politicized media carry impurities towards each other.

“Those who do not have a free, impartial and clean mind, and we apologize for that, the free writer writes about what is consistent with the sobriety of his mind and analyzes his thought, not to please the benefactor as those ideologues do.

“It is well known that the Gulf regimes and their peoples will remain brothers even if they differ in some matters and some parties are upset against each other, these differences we see as summer clouds laden with rain and its spark ends, and these regimes are like brothers by nature, they differ with each other today and reconcile on another day.

“A sane media person should not involve himself in playing adult. If a writer or a media person wants to give an opinion on the problems of some regimes, his intervention must be positive, not negative, and opening the critical historical files, which widen the gap between brothers by the media, shows the media’s ignorance of the consequences.

“The dimensions of these unacceptable methods, and the Gulf media must stop the unjustified exchanges by all parties, the Gulf and its people cannot bear the differences, do not make us an easy prey for the Western and Zionists, and stop the unjustified incitement that contains toxins and insults to each other.

“The intellectual does not cross with poisonous articles towards his brothers, and whoever does this is called the broker of the word, as the educated person requires him to work to calm souls, not tear them apart, and to call for peace, with righteousness and kind words, and be on the paths of goodness and reconciliation of the relationship.

“The pure media person affiliated with the transparent media serves the people and brings their souls closer and does not alienate them, and also works to clean souls and not disturb them with his abhorrent impurities and his poisonous nib of his pen, and what happens from some media professionals, journalists and article writers of unjustified insults and slander, because the leaders of our regimes, no matter how they differ, will inevitably remain a group of brothers.

“They will reconcile, and the water will return to its course, but it is difficult to reconcile souls if they harbor hostility against each other. Likewise, the current situation, according to these variables, pushes us to aggregate and purify relations, not fragmentation and disputes. Taking refuge in the West, America and Israel leads us to the Ukranization of the Gulf.

“It should be noted that the GCC countries, according to international and regional developments and changes, are required to be more interdependence, closeness, cooperation and bloc, not to disperse and create disputes arise between them.

“Articles calling for rupture, and we say them with a categorical molar: We are brothers, and we aspire to develop relations between brothers and serve peoples.

“A successful media person is someone who helps transform of our council’s projects such as the unified currency, movement and work between his countries without obstacles into facts. Will this dream come true?”

“Without a doubt, the nomination of an employee to a leadership or supervisory position entails that he should meet the conditions for the right person to occupy the right place, thereby, leading to good results for both the employer and the employee,” columnist Abdullah AlAbduljader wrote Al-Anba daily.

“To achieve this, certain procedures must be implemented from the beginning of the appointment process, such as meeting the conditions or requirements applicable to the candidate, including appropriate academic qualifications which are related to the nature of the job.

“For example, for a job as an information systems programmer, he must hold a Computer Science degree with basic knowledge about the programmer’s tasks. After passing the interview and the test, he is nominated for the job, but there must be an authority that requires this candidate to complete a theoretical and practical training program in the field of work to acquire the necessary skills to continue working for years.

“The government, represented by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), must now find a solution to the problem related to the holders of forged and unaccredited qualifications who were identified by the Ministry of Higher Education years ago. They should be suspended from work, be interrogated and their qualifications must be verified. In this manner, tampering and corruption will stop, considering that assuming leadership positions through financial and administrative powers could destroy government agencies.”

“Despite the rumors about the extent of challenges that the next prime minister will face, which some have brought to the point of impossibility and uselessness, and that nothing will change ... etc, unless some refrain from accepting the responsibility of the premier, facts show that the Kuwait cup is neither empty nor half empty. Rather, the cup is almost full and the challenges are the same as the size of the way of dealing with them,” columnist Sami Al-Nisf wrote for Annahar daily.

“This is in addition to not facing challenges and risks, but to ignore them like the ostrich. Yes, those risks will grow and turn from yellow to dark red.

“On the other hand, if a distinguished prime minister is mocked in Kuwait for his competence, the government that would be formed could the awaited dream of the best competencies, and the approach could change from ‘live your day in temporary Kuwait’ to ‘permanent Kuwait’, then the challenges will be reduced until they are close to zero, the negative will turn into positive, and pessimism into optimism.

“The Kuwait ship will start moving quickly to catch up with the brothers’ ships in the Gulf. It will be an important part of the new Kuwaiti renaissance with the help of the brothers with their renaissance and development experience that dazzled the whole world.”
