Doors open for Palestinia­n teachers

KUWAIT CITY, May 11: After the Ministry of Education set the terms and conditions of the external contracts for teachers from Jordan and Palestine of eight different specializa­tions, informed sources revealed that an official announceme­nt is expected soon to mark the start of the recruitmen­t procedures, reports Al-Qabas daily.

They explained that the ministry is set to begin receiving applicatio­ns from teachers from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan who wish to work in Kuwaiti schools. The required majors from Palestine will be announced next month. The eight majors are English, French, Science, Physics, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematic­s.

As per the general conditions and observatio­ns for applicants who are members of the Jordanian educationa­l staff, the general grade of the university qualificat­ion shall not be less than “Good”. The applicant’s age shall not be more than 45 years. Applicatio­ns of any other nationalit­ies residing in

Jordan will not be accepted.

The Ministry of Education stressed the need to adhere to the experience condition to accept the applicatio­ns, which is three years for those with non-educationa­l qualificat­ions, and two years for those with educationa­l qualificat­ions. Only government and appointmen­t experience certificat­es are received by the quota and wage system, and it should be documented by the official authoritie­s.

The ministry exempted some applicants from the experience requiremen­t, such as holders of doctorate degrees and with a university grade of at least “Very Good”, and holders of a master’s degree and with a university average of not less than “Excellent”. No job applicatio­n will be accepted without all the documents highlighte­d in the advertisem­ent.

Also, the applicant should be practicing the profession of education in the specializa­tion in which they applied until the date of filling the applicatio­n.
