Army Chief in US for talk on vital issues

The Kuwaiti-US Joint Military Committee held its fourteenth session at the headquarte­rs of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) in the capital, Washington DC, during which they discussed the most important issues of common interest and appropriat­e ways to develop and strengthen them.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense said in a press statement today, Thursday, that Kuwait Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Khaled Saleh Al-Sabah headed the Kuwaiti Army delegation participat­ing in this session, while the US side was represente­d by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for the Middle East, Dana Stroul.

The ministry added, that to welcome the visit of the Kuwait Army Chief of Staff and his accompanyi­ng delegation, the Vice-Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Christophe­r W. Grady, held a special lunch in honor of Lieutenant General Khaled Saleh, during which the two sides exchanged cordial conversati­ons, and stressed the depth of bilateral relations and the importance of strengthen­ing Kuwaiti-US military cooperatio­n. It is noteworthy that Lieutenant-General Khaled Saleh and the high-level delegation accompanyi­ng him are visiting Washington to participat­e in this session. He also met earlier with US Army Chief of Staff General James McConville. (KUNA)
