‘Thuraya’ ushers in season of summer
KUWAIT CITY, May 12: Astronomer Adel Al-Saadoun said the Thuraya season begins today, Thursday, which coincides with the onset of the summer season, characterized by rising temperatures, reports AlRai daily.
He pointed out during the Thuraya season the average high temperatures during mid-day range between 38 and 41 degrees Celsius, while the lowest average temperature recorded is between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius. He indicated the country is dominated by northwesterly moderatespeed winds, sometimes active, and their speed increases to more than 40 kilometers per hour, causing dust storms called Al-Bareh Al-Saghir winds.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed announced the launch of a new service for the bedridden that includes home visits part of integrated multiple health care services within the framework of achieving goals of the development plan of New Kuwait Vision 2035, says Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Al-Saeed affirmed in a press statement, Thursday, the new service aimed at achieving the objectives of sustainable development, and is based on the ministry’s keenness to ensure that everyone leads a healthy life.
The service will include periodic medical assessments to follow up on patients with chronic conditions, review medicines and treatments, provide oral and dental services, physiotherapy, and nutrition, noted Al-Saeed.
