Top-level IAEA team to visit Kuwait soon

KUWAIT CITY, May 14: A high-level delegation from the Internatio­nal Atomic Energy Agency will visit Kuwait from May 16 to 18, including the deputy director general of the agency, director of the Nuclear Sciences and Applicatio­ns Department, and head of the Asia and Pacific Division in the Technical Cooperatio­n Department, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In a press statement, National Liaison Officer with the agency Dr Nader Al-Awadi revealed that the visit is within the context of strengthen­ing technical cooperatio­n between Kuwait and the agency, during which the developmen­t of national capabiliti­es and skills in areas related to the agency’s work will be discussed. This is in addition to preparing for future expectatio­ns that help in facing developmen­t challenges in economic and social fields.

The program for the visit includes a meeting with officials and specialist­s at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, tour of the institute’s laboratori­es, a meeting with specialist­s in the Ministry of Health to strengthen cooperatio­n with the agency in medical fields, a meeting with officials from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Developmen­t and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Developmen­t, and a meeting with some officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
