New MoH service for bedridden
KUWAIT CITY, May 16: Within the framework of the keenness to implement the development plan and the New Kuwait Vision 2035 of improving the quality of health services and providing them in accordance with the best standards for citizens, the Minister of Health, Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed, announced the launch of the new service for the bedridden according to the updated protocols, to include home visits and the provision of integrated multidisciplinary health services, reports Al-Anba daily.
Al-Saeed stressed that this comes in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and based on the ministry’s keenness to ensure that everyone enjoy healthy lifestyles and promote decent living for all. He pointed out the service will include periodic medical check-ups to follow up on chronic conditions, run a check on medicines and treatments, providing oral and dental health services, and others such as physiotherapy and therapeutic nutrition.
In this regard, he praised the role of the central administration for primary health care and its preparations to launch the new service, pointing out that health care centers are the first line of defense for the health system. Director of the Central Department of Primary Health Care, Dr Dina Al-Dhubaib, announced the formation of integrated multidisciplinary home visit teams, consisting of a family doctor, dentist, physiotherapist, pharmacist, nursing, laboratory technician and nutritionist, indicating that obtaining the service is either by applying through the website.
