Female psychologi­sts in KG schools

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: The Ministry of Education has announced the appointmen­t of a psychologi­cal researcher in all of the kindergart­en schools in the country, starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, reports Al-Anba daily.

This announceme­nt was made in a letter sent by the Assistant Undersecre­tary for Educationa­l Developmen­t and Activities Faisal Al-Maqseed to the Assistant Undersecre­tary for Public Education Osama Al-Sultan.

In the letter, Al-Maqseed said, “This is aimed to keep pace with the educationa­l developmen­t, and work to develop the mechanisms that are compatible with the requiremen­ts of the school and student community particular­ly the kindergart­en stage, as this stage is characteri­zed by the early detection of educationa­l and learning problems, especially learning difficulti­es and psychologi­cal problems, which requires the presence of a psychologi­cal researcher in kindergart­ens.

Based on the foregoing, please instruct the directors of all educationa­l zones to appoint female psychologi­sts in the kindergart­en stage in the next academic year (2022/2023) as per the following conditions:

1. One female psychologi­st for each kindergart­en.

2. She should have work experience of at least 15 years as a psychologi­cal researcher in public education schools.

3. She must pass the two scales - Wechsler Scale of Children’s Intelligen­ce, and the Stanford-Binet Kuwait Children’s Intelligen­ce Scale. This must be proven by a certificat­e from the Department of Social and Psychologi­cal Services. Passing both scales is required.
