Female psychologists in KG schools
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: The Ministry of Education has announced the appointment of a psychological researcher in all of the kindergarten schools in the country, starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, reports Al-Anba daily.
This announcement was made in a letter sent by the Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities Faisal Al-Maqseed to the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education Osama Al-Sultan.
In the letter, Al-Maqseed said, “This is aimed to keep pace with the educational development, and work to develop the mechanisms that are compatible with the requirements of the school and student community particularly the kindergarten stage, as this stage is characterized by the early detection of educational and learning problems, especially learning difficulties and psychological problems, which requires the presence of a psychological researcher in kindergartens.
Based on the foregoing, please instruct the directors of all educational zones to appoint female psychologists in the kindergarten stage in the next academic year (2022/2023) as per the following conditions:
1. One female psychologist for each kindergarten.
2. She should have work experience of at least 15 years as a psychological researcher in public education schools.
3. She must pass the two scales - Wechsler Scale of Children’s Intelligence, and the Stanford-Binet Kuwait Children’s Intelligence Scale. This must be proven by a certificate from the Department of Social and Psychological Services. Passing both scales is required.
