Municipality to monitor real estate violations
Minister pushes for Mubarakiya renovation
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: As part of the process of implementing the law, eliminating violations and abuses, and combating violators of municipal law, Al-Qabas daily learned that the Director-General of the Municipality, Engr. Ahmad Al-Manfouhi, has issued a decision assigning the Building Violations Follow-up Committee to monitor the violating properties, and to refer the employee who failed to do his work for investigation.
In his decision, Al-Manfouhi assigned the committee to carry out the following tasks -- conducting field tours in all governorates, whether through members of the committee, or accompanied by employees of the relevant departments and emergency teams used to monitor all real estate laden with existing and under construction violations and find out about the legal measures taken by the Municipality employees regarding the real estate violations, each within the scope of his work.
The decision includes submitting a statement of the shortcomings and negligence in taking legal measures by municipality employees, if any, and the extent to which the concerned departments are committed to the applicable legal controls, circulars and administrative instructions and the right to request that the employee who has failed to work be referred to the investigation without regard to his supervisory job title.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Municipal Affairs, Dr. Rana Al-Faris decided to form a consultative working group to follow up the renovation work of the Mubarakiya Market, part of which was destroyed by fire, and the project to develop the Mubarakiya market, reports AlQabas daily.
The committee is headed by the ministry with Chairperson of the Voluntary Work Center Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Society for Heritage Fahd Al-Abdul-Jalil; Professor of Architecture at Kuwait University Dr. Muhammad Al-Jassar; Vice-President of the Kuwait Heritage Society, Engr. Ahmed Al-Adwani, and consultant at the Kuwait Research and Studies Center Eng Salah AlFadil; researcher at Kuwaiti heritage, Saleh Al-Mathn, and Director of the Department of the Office of the Minister of Municipality Eng. Abdullah Akshan.
Al-Faris defined the team’s terms of reference to follow up the work of treating the effects of the Mubarakiya fire that occurred on March 31, presenting a study to develop the affected area, and following up on the work of the Mubarakiya commercial market development project.
