KNPC, KOC get nod from CAPT for extensions
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: The Kuwait Oil Company and the Kuwait National Petroleum Company have given nod to award contracts and other contracts extensions, and issue change orders for contracts with a total value of 86.6 million dinars, reports Al-Anba quoting senior reliable oil sources.
The KNPC decided to extend 3 contracts and issue a change order worth 18.3 million dinars, after obtaining the approval of the Central Agency for Public Tenders for the extension until the completion of the alternative tender procedures.
Meanwhile, the Kuwait Oil Company decided to award one of the contracts and extend another contract with a total value of 68.3 million dinars.
Giving the details, the sources said the KNPC asked the Central Agency to issue the second change order worth 4 million dinars for the mechanical maintenance contract for the Mina Abdullah refinery, in addition to extending another contract for a period of one year ending in March 2024, with a value of 9.2 million dinars for the total value of the change order and the extension to 13.2 million dinars.
Quality control
The sources added that the company requested the fifth extension for quality control services contract in the company’s refineries, for a period of 12 months, with a total amount of 3.6 million dinars, until the completion of the alternative tender procedures, and CAPT gave its approval.
The sources stated that KNPC also requested the extension of a second contract for quality control in the company’s refineries, worth 1.5 million dinars, until the completion of the alternative tender procedures, and the company’s request was approved.
On the same level, the sources said that the Kuwait Oil Company requested the second extension of the contract for providing maintenance services to production facilities in northern Kuwait, concluded for a value of 18.8 million dinars, in order to ensure the continuation of providing services until the completion of the alternative contract tender procedures and decided to float a tender to provide maintenance services for firefighting systems for the south, east, export, marine and Ahmadi regions of the company, at a value of 7 million dinars.
