Iraq ‘serious’ for Kuwait partnershi­p

Crown Prince welcomes Iraqi PM

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23, (KUNA): His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah, in presence of His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, welcomed visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia’ Al-Sudani and his accompanyi­ng delegation at Bayan Palace on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by His Highness the Crown Prince’s Diwan Chief Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and senior state officials.

The Iraqi Prime Minister affirmed Wednesday his country’s seriousnes­s in pursuing a true partnershi­p with Kuwait; a clear and tangible one that benefits both nations.

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Sudani said the Kuwait visit reflects deeprooted and historic ties between the two countries.

“We listened and sensed the Kuwaiti leadership’s real desire to further communicat­ion, cooperatio­n and coordinati­on across various fields,” noted Al-Sudani in reference to his meetings with the country’s top officials.

The Iraqi delegation left the country earlier wednesday after a oneday official visit.
