The most prominent cases were related to appealing the decisions of dissolution and eviction of investment properties and rents.

The daily added, 213 cases filed against the Ministry and 49 against the Union of Cooperative Societies have been rejected indicating that the most prominent of these cases are related to challenging the Ministry’s decisions to dissolve boards of directors, eviction from investing branches, and rent facilities affiliated to the cooperatives, in addition to the financial dues such as salaries, end of service indemnities and others.

The sources added that “regarding issues related to the investing branches they are regulated by laws and regulations and are looked into by a permanent committee for contracts and the opening of tender envelopes, with a total of about 6600 branches distributed over 74 cooperatives in all regions of the country.”

The sources stressed the ministry is keen to carry out its oversight role to the fullest, which is editing violations, if any, and activating the role of judicial officers.
