Bid to expand IICO, UN partnership
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23, (KUNA): A workshop held by the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) with United Nations agencies and funds recommended investing and expanding the partnership between the two sides to include initiatives and activities for knowledge transfer and preparing programs for capacity building of cadres and institutional development for the authority, local bodies and international partners.
The authority said in a press statement on Wednesday that this workshop came in coordination with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and aims to strengthen the work mechanism between the authority and United Nations agencies.
It explained that the workshop discussed the general policies and procedures regulating partnerships and cooperation between the two sides and ways to develop them.
The statement added that officials from the relevant departments of the authority and relevant international organizations, led by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Habitat, UNRWA, UNICEF and others participated in the workshop.
