‘Info’ concludes agreement with MoE to print textbooks

First batch of Jordan teachers arrive

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23: The Ministry of Informatio­n announced the start of procedures for implementi­ng the agreement concluded with the Ministry of Education to take over the government printing press in the Ministry of Informatio­n to print textbooks for the academic year “20232024”, after a hiatus of more than 47 years, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The official spokespers­on for the Ministry of Informatio­n, Anwar Murad, said in a press statement that this agreement came upon the directives of the Minister of Informatio­n and Culture and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, to enhance cooperatio­n between the two ministries in this field and overcome all obstacles that could face the implementa­tion of this agreement.

She added the last time the books of the Ministry of Education were printed in the government printing press was in 1975, pointing out that this agreement represents a major step towards unifying government efforts and closer cooperatio­n between them in a way that guarantees continuity and rationaliz­ation of spending.

Murad explained the agreement between the officials of the two ministries also included that the government printing press would print the books of the Ministry of Education at its maximum capacity without prejudice to its other obligation­s, whether at the level of the Ministry of Informatio­n or other government agencies.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has received the first batch of 14 new teachers who were recruited to work in Kuwaiti government schools from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Assistant Undersecre­tary for Administra­tive Affairs and Administra­tive Developmen­t, Rajaa Bouarki, affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to provide all means of comfort to facilitate the procedures related to the recruitmen­t of new foreign contracted teachers, through the cooperatio­n of all state ministries and community institutio­ns.

Bouarki stated the teachers were selected on the basis of certain rules and regulation­s set by the Ministry of Education in advance.

Bouarki expressed her happiness at the newly-recruited teachers joining the educationa­l family saying Kuwait is their second home away from home and will be working along with their brothers and sisters, wishing them all success.

She pointed out that the rest of the teachers will arrive soon in batches, according to the flight dates reservatio­ns, and after the completion of security procedures and coordinati­on with the concerned authoritie­s.
