Second partial handover of KU admin building, library okayed

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: In a step that confirms the validity of the reports about the unjustified delay by the former director of Kuwait University, who submitted his resignation two weeks ago, in receiving the administrative buildings in Sabah Al-Salem University City, the university announced that the committee in charge of taking over the contracting and construction works (major projects) in the university city had Thursday approved the second partial initial handover of the university administration building and the central library within the package of work related to the administrative buildings project, taking into account the comments of the committee members, reports Aljarida daily.
Chairman of the committee and Acting Secretary-General of the university Dr. Fayez Al-Dhafiri explained that the partial initial handover of the aforementioned facilities was approved after reviewing the technical reports prepared by the Construction and Maintenance Department in this regard.
The committee made a field visit for inspection to ensure the readiness of the aforementioned project sites.
This handover represents a continuation of the process of achieving the new campus, which is the educational edifice that will contribute to the development and enable the university to perform its educational and research roles, as well as its distinguished role in community service.
Meanwhile, Director of the Construction Program at the university Dr. Muhammad Al-Mulla said this partial handover represents another step in the university’s efforts to complete the handover of the facilities of this huge project.
In the same context, the Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Facilities and Planning at the Ministry of Education Saad Al-Mutairi stated that the building is an architectural edifice of a modern style.
In addition, the Director of the Second Region Projects Department at the Public Authority for Housing Welfare Ali Al-Saleh praised the project’s buildings, highlighting the mastery of the interior finishings and the quality of the constructions, as well as the professional overlapping colors in the design.
