‘Fund yet to open its doors to needy Bedoun students’

-

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: The month of November will end soon, but the Charitable Fund for Needy Students has yet to open its doors to needy Bedoun students, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources.

Sources disclosed the Education Ministry has yet to announce the opening of educational support applications for the abovementioned students. Sources pointed out that in the past, the ministry opened such applications in the month of October. Sources explained the fund takes care of the expenses of needy Bedoun students in private schools, indicating the ministry has not formed the fund’s special team till date.

Sources added the delay in receiving applications for the registration of Bedoun students in the fund may put these students and their parents in a dilemma, especially since the schools will soon demand for payment of tuition fees. Sources revealed some schools have stopped such students from attending their classes until the fees are paid.

Sources pointed out that students in this category come from families who suffer from financial hardship, so they will not be able to pay the tuition fees.

Sources affirmed the special committee tasked to look into the formation of work teams will hold its meeting soon to determine the members of the fund team. Sources stated this will kickstart the procedures for receiving applications, speed up their completion and determine the number of accepted students. Sources added the schools will then be provided with the list of students accepted in the fund.
