‘Nazaha’ receives 32,490 financial disclosure statements by Feb end

Bid to prevent corruption, protect funds

KUWAIT CITY, March 14: The Public Authority for Anti-Corruption “Nazaha” confirmed that 32,490 financial disclosure statements were received until the end of last February or a total of 99.5 percent, reports Al-Rai daily.

Among the declaratio­ns received by Nazaha include 16,960 first acknowledg­ments for assuming the job capacity covered by the provisions of financial disclosure­s law, while the Authority received 10,418 updates for the declaratio­ns that were made 3 years ago, and 5,112 final approvals for the demise of the job capacity covered by the provisions for financial disclosure­s.

The observer at the authority Abdulaziz Abdul Mohsen AlOthman told the daily, that the importance of approving financial disclosure plays an essential role in preventing financial corruption, protecting public money, and strengthen­ing control over everyone who assumes a public job, in addition to immunizing the public employee and establishi­ng the principle of transparen­cy and integrity in state agencies.

The authority continues to carry out its work by receiving financial disclosure statements and receiving those covered by the provisions of financial disclosure law, ”pointing out its keenness to coordinate and continuous­ly cooperate with the authoritie­s affiliated with those involved to urge them to submit their statements in accordance with the legal deadlines.

While Al-Othman urged the approving parties to “inquire about the start of their legal deadlines for submitting the financial disclosure statement via the Sahel platform, in order to avoid delays in submitting their declaratio­n,” he stressed the need to print and fill out the declaratio­n forms before coming to the authority’s headquarte­rs to submit the financial disclosure declaratio­n, as all required forms are available on the official website of the Public Anti-Corruption Authority “Nazaha” (www.nazaha.gov.kw).

Good housing for pilgrims:

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced, Monday, that a delegation from the Ministry of Health and the Directorat­e-General of Fire Department (DGFD) began its work to inspect the residences of Kuwaiti pilgrims for this year’s Hajj season in Makkah AlMukarram­ah, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Director of Informatio­n Department at the Ministry, Dr. Ahmad Al-Otaibi, said that the delegation is working to ensure that the pilgrims’ housing is suitable and that it conforms to the pilgrims’ housing conditions to ensure their safety.

Al-Otaibi stated that the delegation continues its work in two shifts, morning and evening, to examine all the housing allocated by the Kuwaiti Hajj Caravans, which number about 56, distribute­d over several hotels and residentia­l buildings in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

He added that meetings will be held with a number of Saudi officials and officials of the Tawafa Company for pilgrims of Arab countries to find out about the latest preparatio­ns that Saudi Arabia is making to facilitate the affairs of the guests of Rahman.

It is noteworthy that the delegation arrived in Makkah AlMukarram­ah last Saturday and will return to the country on March 17.

Person’s hand freed:

Acting on informatio­n personnel from the Jahra firefighti­ng center rushed to an unidentifi­ed location in the area and freed the hand of a person which got stuck in a car’s fuel filler, Monday evening.

The Public Relations and Media Department of the Directorat­e-General of Fire Department (DGFD) stated that a report was received by the Central Operations Department stating that a car driver’s hand was stuck in the car’s fuel filler and the firemen freed the hand using a specialize­d equipment without causing injury to the hand, reports Al-Rai daily.

Fire in Salmiya home:

The Public Relations and Media Department of the Directorat­e-General of Fire Department (DGFD) said after a report was received by the Central Operations Department, this morning, stating that there was a fire in a house in the Salmiya area, the firefighti­ng teams from the Salmiya and Al-Bida fire centers went to the site of the accident and put out the fire without causing any injuries, reports Al-Rai daily.

Meanwhile, acting on informatio­n firefighte­rs from Kabad and Istiqlal fire centers rushed to Kabad today (Monday) and put out a fire that broke out in an asphalt factory, reports AlRai daily.

The daily said no injuries have been reported.
