‘Postpone Kuwaitization of teaching jobs’

-

KUWAIT CITY, March 20: The Kuwait Teachers Association (KTA) submitted to the Ministry of Education a proposal to postpone the decision related to applying the Kuwaitization policy on teaching jobs and request a report from the technical management concerning its technical and practical impact on the educational field, reports Al-Anba daily.

This was based on the desire to ensure the stability of the educational field and the regularity of the educational process without obstacles and disruption of work in the next academic year as a result of the expected shortage in the numbers of teachers that many schools will suffer from, and the exit of a large number of experienced and qualified teachers as a result of the Kuwaitization decision. The proposals were as follows:

■ Postpone the implementation of the decision for this year.

■ Present the lists of names to the technical management and request a report from each superintendent on the impact of the decision on his field of study and the consequent technical and scientific consequences affecting the learner and the teacher and the increase in the lesson shares, and provide a report on that.

■ Request by the Coordination Department to the superintendents of all stages, whose teachers will be affected by Kuwaitization, for a report on the impact of the decision on schools, the expected shortage and the increase in lesson shares.

■ Develop a gradual plan according to a timetable for the implementation of the decision so that the educational field is not affected by it and enable the teachers covered by the decision to settle their affairs and arrange their conditions.

On the other hand, KTA demanded the necessity of urgency in announcing the timing of school hours for the month of Ramadan because of its importance in distributing curricula and study plans for various fields, and to ensure that the educational process is not disrupted during the holy month.
