All-year long courses: First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has instructed the concerned officials in the Office of Kuwait Army Chief of Staff to open the registration for non-commissioned officers and civilian staff training courses throughout the year; instead of holding these courses at certain periods, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In a recent press statement, the Office revealed that the instruction is the first step of its kind with the aim of encouraging Kuwaiti youths to join the military. It added that as per the directive, participation in the training courses must be confirmed as soon as the applicants meet the admission requirements and pass the prescribed medical tests, instead of burdening them with waiting for registration to open at irregular time intervals.

According to the office, this step will also contribute to the provision of the manpower needs of the Army – noncommissioned officers and civilian employees – who will be enrolled in the training institutes and schools of each military unit to ensure they are fully prepared and qualified for employment.
