Citizen surrenders to police after killing friend in desert
3 drug pushers arrested; booze factory busted
KUWAIT CITY, March 20: An unidentified Kuwaiti surrendered to the Umm Al-Hayman police station after killing his friend in the Al-Thani desert off the mainland of the Eighth Ring Road project, reports Al-Rai daily.
After the suspect informed the police about the incident, he volunteered to take police to the site of the crime. Police and personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department found the corpse of the victim and referred it to Forensics and referred the suspect to the Public Prosecution for interrogation.

Booze factory raided: The security campaigns resulted in the arrest of 9 violators of residence and labor laws, raiding an apartment that was used as factory to manufacture booze and a fake servants’ office, while nine juveniles were referred to the competent authorities for driving vehicles on Al-Wafra Road without a license, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior said “the security campaigns and field deployment of the public security sector resulted in the seizure of a liquor factory and arrest of four violators of the residence law, 240 drums of raw material, 3 distillation tanks and 3 burners in addition to 471 bottles filled with local booze ready for sale.
The sources added, “Residence Investigation Department (Research and Investigation Department) raided a fake maid’s office housing five violators who work on a daily basis, and legal measures were taken against them.”
As part of the efforts of the Ahmadi security men (Al-Wafra Command), to impose security control and apprehend violators and security deployment, a campaign was implemented that resulted in the seizure of 11 vehicles violating the traffic law, and the referral of 9 juveniles to the police for driving vehicles without a driver’s license.
Drug pushers arrested: The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Directorate-General of Drugs Control stated that the criminal security sector, represented by the General Department for Drug Control, managed to arrest a person and seized from him narcotics and weapons, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The daily said plainclothes policemen seized from the suspect Captagon pills, 10 grams of shabu, two Kalashnikov assault rifles, bullets, a sensitive scale, and two bottles of intoxicating substances.
Also, personnel from the Jahra Security Directorate have taken into custody a citizen from an unidentified Gulf country and a bedoun for peddling in drugs, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the men put up strong resistance but they were overpowered and handcuffed and taken into custody.
Police have seized from them a quantity of narcotic substances, drug use tools and special equipment for selling narcotics.
On the other hand, the securitymen of Najdah Mubarak Al-Kabeer managed to seize a 46-year-old Arab expatriate driving a car in Al-Qusour area under the influence of drugs. Police have also seized from him drugs.
The three men have been handed over to the General Department of Drugs and Alcohol Control (GDDAC).
