Awqaf announces Grand Mosque plan to receive worshipers in Ramadan

KUWAIT CITY, March 20: The Minister of Justice, the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, and the Minister of State for Integrity Affairs, Abdulaziz Al-Majid, announced during a tour of the mosque that he made last Thursday that the Grand State Mosque is ready to receive worshipers during Tarawih prayers and the nights of the holy month of Ramadan, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Undersecre­tary for Islamic Culture Affairs, Trad Al-Enezi, said the Grand Mosque opens its doors after a three-year hiatus following the outbreak of the Covid -19 pandemic and maintenanc­e work

Al-Enezi told the press the mosque administra­tion has drawn up a comprehens­ive plan for all the necessary preparatio­ns to organize the blessed nights, and has identified fields of work distribute­d among the cultural, social, religious, artistic, services, media, administra­tive and financial fields.

Schedule

He explained the administra­tion has completed the schedule for 10 Tarawih prayer, Qiyam prayer, faith thoughts, faith lessons of the Qiyam prayer reciters and preachers.

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced the integrated plan prepared by the Grand Mosque administra­tion to receive crowds of worshipers to perform Tarawih prayers and pray during the holy month of Ramadan.

He pointed out that the administra­tion is preparing to set up 6 activities during the month of Ramadan in the Grand Mosque, including a breakfast banquet project for scholarshi­p students and workers in the Grand Mosque throughout the month of Ramadan, in cooperatio­n with the Kuwait University and the Kuwait Finance House.

Meals

Al-Enezi explained that the administra­tion will establish the Nuqsa Boubyan project under the auspices of the Quranic Recitation competitio­n sponsored by Boubyan Bank and distribute breakfast meals to the poor and needy in cooperatio­n with the Grand Mosque, adding that it will establish a youth cultural club for girls during the Qiyam prayer.

He pointed out that the administra­tion will also hold a competitio­n (recitation­s to memorize the Holy Quran) for the Kuwait Finance House and a competitio­n (memorizing the Holy Quran) for the Kuwaiti Society of Engineers.

For his part, Director of the Grand Mosque Administra­tion, Ali Shaddad, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that after a 3-year hiatus, the time has come for the Grand Mosque to receive worshipers in Tarawih prayers by an elite group of distinguis­hed Kuwaiti reciters.

Shaddad mentioned that there will be a live broadcast through Kuwait TV and radio to convey the events of Tarawih and Qiyam prayers, adding that the mosque administra­tion has carried out several activities over the past 30 years through which nine million people have benefited and organized Qiyam prayers for five million worshipers.

Shaddad confirmed that the mosque’s administra­tion is working on preparing an integrated media plan to publish on various social media sites to reach all segments of society.
