KUWAIT CITY, March 20: Director General of the American Baccalaureate School Areej AlGhanim emphasized the importance of infusing noble human values in the hearts of learners, and encouraging them to volunteer, carry out charitable work, and participate in meaningful community work, reports Al-Qabas daily.
She said this during the annual charity carnival organized by the American Baccalaureate School on Saturday within the school premises in Khaitan area in the presence of a large number of visitors. More than 55 sponsors and volunteers among the school’s students and their parents participated in the carnival.
In a press statement issued on the sidelines of the carnival, Al-Ghanim said, “We are keen to motivate our male and female students to take up volunteering work, and invest their time in a positive manner.
Carnival
We used to hold this carnival or charity market annually, and its proceeds were allocated several times to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, the Direct Aid Society, the Autism Center, Abdullah’s House, and the Patient Helping Fund in the past years.
This year, its proceeds will be allocated to the Kharafi Center to support the activities of the disabled.
The beautiful thing is that the members of the organizing committee of the carnival are male and female students of the school under the supervision of the administrative and educational body. Our male and female students exerted clear, great and exceptional efforts to organize such an event.”
Al-Ghanim expressed her gratitude and appreciation to all the participants and contributors in this event. Their numbers reached more than 55 contributors and participants, especially the major sponsors namely Ali Al-Ghanim and Sons Automotive Company, Kuwait Finance House, Zain Company, and Boubyan Bank.
She appreciated their constant keenness to support the charitable and voluntary work process.
Al-Ghanim said, “We are always present with our male and female students. I also thank the organizers and visitors, whose number was large. This indicates the keenness of Kuwaiti citizens to be active in society.”
Meanwhile, the Human Resources Officer at the Kharafi Center for the Activities of Disabled Children Zahraa Al-Suwaij affirmed the center’s interest in all types of mental and physical disabilities, and providing all aspects of support and assistance to children with these disabilities.

with special needs.
She indicated that the center’s participation in charitable carnivals and exhibitions is through the handicrafts of girls with special needs.

She praised the American Baccalaureate School, represented by its principal Areej AlGhanim, for the continuous support to the center through visits and student participation in events and activities.
In addition, Sarah Al-Zabin from the Institutional Relations Department at the Zain Company said, “The company’s sponsorship of these charitable works comes within the framework of its
keenness to support children, especially since the company believes that children, with their talents, skills and creative abilities, have a lot to offer the country in the great future.
Zain Telecom Company was present as a platinum sponsor in the American Baccalaureate School event to assist and support children particularly those with special needs. This participation comes within the interests of the company and its active role in social responsibility and support for charitable work.”
