Palestinian President hails Kuwait’s supportive vital role
KRCS reiterates Kuwait support to Palestine
RAMALLAH, March 20, (KUNA): Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas praised Kuwait’s “important and pivotal” role in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause at all levels.
The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) noted that Abbas’s praise came during his reception in the city of Ramallah to a delegation from Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society (KRCS), headed by Hilal AlSaye.
The Palestinian leader welcomed the visiting delegation, stressing on the strong relations that bind the two peoples and countries.
Abbas also stressed the importance of such visits to the Arab brothers in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, “and seeing on the ground the suffering of our people as a result of the Israeli occupation.”
For his part, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation thanked Abbas for the warm welcome they received and briefed them on the progress of the various projects implemented jointly with the Palestine Red Crescent.
Al-Sayer affirmed Kuwait’s keenness to support Palestine in all fields, stressing that KRCS will strengthen such projects and strengthen partnership and cooperation in areas of common interest.

Speaking to KUNA while concluding a two-day visit to to
Palestine, Al-Sayer said Kuwait’s leadership, government and people strongly back the Palestinian people, boasting that Kuwait provides them with health, relief and food aid.
He added that the visit encompassed inaugurating projects and holding meetings aiming to bolster partnerships, pointing out the inauguration of 16 stores at the Butcher’s market of Al-Quds’ old town, adding that they aim to refurbish the rest of the market.
He also noted that the children’s intensive care unit “Mohammad Zaman Aqeel” opened yesterday at the Kuwaiti hospital by Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.
KRCS’ chief thanked the Kuwaiti, Jordanian, and Palestinian Foreign Ministry as well as Kuwaiti embassies in Jordan and occupied Palestine for their efforts in easing the delegation’s mission.
He also extended thanks to Palestinian Red Crescent Society, and commended the projects they have executed.
