MoI pledges safety, security for public
KUWAIT CITY, March 22: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has completed its integrated plan for the month of Ramadan, which includes the participation of all field sectors, to provide security and safety for citizens and residents.
The daily has learned strict measures have been taken to reduce crime, protect mosques and secure markets, in addition to increase extensive presence of police patrols in residential areas. The sources indicated the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled has directed that care and caution be taken to prevent any lawlessness, control the situation, protect lives and property, and provide security services.
The sources pointed out that the security plan distributes fixed and mobile security points, the deployment of the Public Security Police, Traffic, Rescue, Investigation, and other support elements related to the operations teams.
The Ministry of Interior has taken traffic measures to achieve smooth traffic flow on all main and secondary roads and intersections, and has developed a plan to deal with the expected traffic jams at peak times. The security services have also drawn up an intensive plan to pursue beggars who take advantage of this season of faith by knocking on doors and begging in front of mosques and commercial markets.

2 hours before ‘Iftar’: The Director General of the Kuwait Municipality, Eng. Ahmad Al-Manfouhi explained that restaurants, cafes and the like will be closed during the specified fasting period, and will be allowed to open two hours before the official iftar time (the Maghrib call to prayer) to start and prepare their work, reports Al-Qabas daily.
He stressed that all the competent departments in the municipality branches in the governorates should follow up on restaurants and cafes and take legal measures in case of violation of the decision right from day one the first of the blessed month of Ramadan.
On the other hand, in public interest and the municipality’s keenness on the safety and health of the cleaners, Al-Manfouhi issued an administrative circular in which he stressed that all departments of public cleanliness and road occupancy in the municipality’s branches in the governorates should follow up on the implementation of cleaning contracts concluded with cleaning companies with regard to the specified working hours for daily cleaning of streets and collecting trash.
