21 violators in police custody

KUWAIT CITY, March 22: The security authoritie­s have arrested 21 violators of residence and labor laws – 20 of who were arrested in the Khaitan and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh areas while one Asian woman was arrested in the Salmiya region, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Public Relations and Security Media of the Ministry of Interior stated the arrests come as part of ministry efforts to combat the phenomenon of menial labor and efforts to eliminate violators of laws.

Murderer sent to jail: The Public Prosecutio­n has ordered the detention of a citizen who came to the Ali Sabah Al-Salem suburb police station and confessed to stabbing to death another citizen while the latter was in his vehicle in the suburb of Ali Sabah Al-Salem, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The suspect said then he buried the corpse in a desert area and set fire to his vehicle to mislead police.

The Public Prosecutio­n Office has initiated investigat­ion procedures in the case and moved to the crime scene, examined the body of the dead man and ordered the forensic medicine department to take charge.

The daily learned the accused during interrogat­ions has confessed to committing the crime and said the cause was personal dispute with the victim.

Four people held: Four people have been arrested and referred to the competent authoritie­s, after 3 of them were arrested in Salmiya for practicing immoral acts, while the fourth was arrested for inciting immorality through video clips, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Public Relations and Security Media Department said the Protection of Public Morals and Traffickin­g in Persons Department arrested the three people on charges of practicing immoral acts in Salmiya region and they were referred to the competent authority to take legal measures against them.

It also indicated another person who committed an incident of incitement to immorality and debauchery by broadcasti­ng video clips on social media in violation of public morals has been referred to the competent authoritie­s to take legal action.
