Oxford Business Group teams up with Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority

KUWAIT CITY, March 23, (KUNA): The College of Social Sciences at Kuwait University (KU) Wednesday recognized outstandin­g students as “Women and Environmen­t Ambassador­s,” in cooperatio­n with the EU delegation to Kuwait.

This was during the organizati­on of the College of Social Sciences, in cooperatio­n with the EU delegation to Kuwait, to announce and the winners in the student competitio­n.

The Acting Charge d’Affaires of the EU Delegation to Kuwait Irina Gusacenko said in a statement that the EU is committed to supporting Kuwait and the bright Kuwaiti youngsters in their efforts to protect the environmen­t and enhance the female’s role in environmen­tal policies.

In a similar statement, Acting Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at KU Dr. Mohammad Al-Sahli said that raising awareness of climate change, highlighti­ng the role of women in making environmen­tal policies, and improving youth capabiliti­es to preserve the environmen­t are all vital.

The three winners issued papers that dealt with topics

of the female’s contributi­on to reducing the effects of climate change, including proposing solutions, recommenda­tions and guidelines for Kuwait.

KUWAIT CITY, March 23: Kuwait plans to pivot sustainabl­e growth and diversific­ation at the core of its longterm strategic developmen­t that are mapped out in a new Growth and Recovery Video titled “Leveraging Kuwait’s Strategic Location through the Developmen­t of Economic Zones”, produced by Oxford Business Group (OBG) in partnershi­p with the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA).

The video promotes Kuwait first economic zone in Al Abdali which is strategica­lly located in northern Kuwait near the Iraqi border and close to the mega Northern Zone project and the planned Mubarak AlKabeer port.

It show cases Kuwait’s efforts to attract impact investment­s into Al Abdali Economic Zone to contribute to Kuwait’s growth and recovery, through the creation of competitiv­e clusters in high value-added industries that support the current national efforts to transform and diversify the economy, develop national exports, foster innovation, and create new job opportunit­ies for young citizens. The overall impact in line with the IMF assessment of Kuwait’s economy to be well on the path to post-pandemic recovery, with real GDP estimated to have grown by 8.7% in 2022, and to maintain a strong outlook over the medium term.

Commenting ahead of the video’s launch, Marc-André de Blois, OBG’s Director of PR and Video Content, said that “Our video gives a valuable snapshot of what investors can expect to find at the country’s new economic zone in Al Abdali, while highlighti­ng the important role of the other economic zones to be duly developed as initiative­s driving industrial developmen­t.”
