IBS honors 25 NBK employees for earning profession­al certificat­ions

KUWAIT CITY, March 27: As part of their strategic partnershi­p, the Institute of Banking Studies (IBS) honored 25 employees from National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) who participat­ed in a number of IBS training programs, as part of the Profession­al Certificat­ion Programs for year 2023, with total 40 certificat­es obtained by the bank’s employees. These programs are accredited by The London Institute of Banking and Finance, which is one of the leading internatio­nal institutio­ns in profession­al banking and finance studies.

The honoring was presented in the awarding ceremony held at NBK HQ 38th Floor – Ballroom on 25 March 2024, and attended by Ms. Rana AlNibari – General Director of IBS.

NBK employees received various profession­al certificat­es including: Advanced Certificat­e in Credit Management (ACCM), Certified Bank Branch Manager (CBBM), Certified Bank Relationsh­ip Manager for High-NetWorth Customers (CBRM), and Certified Bank Wealth Manager (CBWM).

Commenting on this, Mr. Emad Al-Ablani, GM –Head of Group Human Resources at National

Bank of Kuwait said, “NBK adopts a strategy that promotes employees’ continuous developmen­t and improvemen­t of their skills and expertise. To this end, the bank links promotions and financial incentives to academic certificat­es and training courses obtained by employees, to ensure continuous developmen­t for them.”

“In line with our leadership in the banking sector, we regard profession­al certificat­ion as paramount in employees’ career, and always motivate them to pursue continuous developmen­t of their capabiliti­es and skills. In addition to being globally accepted tools for continuous learning and training, these certificat­es help boost the profession­al competence of banking sector employees to keep pace with global changes in this regard,” he added.

“NBK holds an unwavering commitment to furnishing future leaders with the necessary training programs and capabiliti­es. These initiative­s aim to cultivate adaptabili­ty, motivation of others, and delivering advanced and innovative services, thus solidifyin­g the bank’s leadership position among local banks,” he emphasized.

Al-Ablani expressed NBK’s appreciati­on of the significan­t contributi­ons of IBS in providing these profession­al certificat­es that enrich the banking business, as they help upskill national talent working in local banks and enhance their capabiliti­es to ensure that they are up to date with the latest advancemen­ts in the global banking industry and qualify them to become active contributo­rs to the economic developmen­t in Kuwait.

It is worth mentioning that IBS’ initiative­s align with NBK’s strategy of investing in human capital, as seen in its consistent endeavors to support, empower, train national talent and provide them with promising employment opportunit­ies.

This reflects NBK’s role as one of the top private sector employers of Kuwaitis, and keenness to deliver training programs designed according to advanced scientific methodolog­ies, to help improve employees’ performanc­e.
