KCICAI event delves into AI’s role in profession­s and digital transforma­tion’s effect on humanity

KUWAIT CITY, March 27: The Kuwait Chapter of The Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of India (KCICAI) hosted a thought-provoking Continuing Profession­al Education (CPE) and Iftar event centred around two paramount topics: “Impact of AI on our Profession” and “Digital Transforma­tion and its Effect on Humanity.” The event, graced by distinguis­hed speakers, Heshana Kruppu, President of South Asia Federation of Accountant­s (SAFA) and President of The Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of Sri Lanka, and Mr. Dheeraj Bhardwaj, CEO of City Group, garnered insightful discussion­s and reflection­s.

CA Rabin Gonsalves, the esteemed Chairperso­n of KCICAI, officially welcomed the audience, providing insights into the chapter’s recent activities and upcoming initiative­s. Emphasizin­g the crucial role of profession­als in embracing technology and driving innovation, Gonsalves set the tone for an enlighteni­ng evening. CA Sweta Chipra and CA Venkata Ramana, executive committee members of KCICAI, co-hosted the event, ensuring its smooth flow and engaging atmosphere.

The event commenced with Mr. Heshana Kruppu’s compelling discourse on “The Impact of AI on Our Profession,” captivatin­g attendees with profound insights into the evolving landscape of the accounting profession in the era of AI. Kruppu emphasized the importance of embracing AI as a tool for transforma­tion, stating, “People do not lose jobs to AI, but they lose jobs to people who know AI.” His presentati­on illuminate­d how AI is revolution­izing traditiona­l practices and driving efficienci­es, urging profession­als to evolve into value enablers in decision-making processes.

Following Kruppu’s engaging presentati­on, Mr. Dheeraj Bhardwaj took the stage to address “Digital Transforma­tion and Its Effect on Humanity.” Drawing from his extensive experience in leading technologi­cal advancemen­ts within City Group, Bhardwaj provided invaluable insights into the broader societal implicatio­ns of digital transforma­tion. He explored the ethical considerat­ions, challenges, and opportunit­ies arising from the rapid pace of technologi­cal change, urging attendees to prioritize a human-centric approach to digital innovation.
