Kuwait pledges to address Gulf Cup Inspection Committee concerns

KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and Minister of State for Communicat­ions Affairs, Daoud Suleiman Marafi, has affirmed Kuwait’s comprehens­ive readiness to address the concerns raised by the Gulf Cup Inspection Committee regarding the nation’s capability to host the Gulf Cup 26, slated for December.

The Gulf Cup Inspection Committee recently conducted assessment­s of Kuwait’s stadiums and made certain observatio­ns regarding the venues earmarked for the tournament.

Following a match between Kuwait and Qatar, Marafi highlighte­d that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al -Jaber Al-Sabah prioritize­s hosting the Gulf nations, evident in his hosting of the

Gulf Federation President and the Qatari Minister of Youth.

Marafi assured that Kuwait stands fully prepared to rectify any noted deficienci­es to ensure the seamless organizati­on of this special event, in line with Kuwait’s tradition of excellence on such occasions. He mentioned, “The inspection committee has granted us a 45-day period to address certain concerns within the tournament stadiums, and we are committed to rectifying these issues.”

Regarding Kuwait’s recent loss to Qatar, Marafi emphasized the shared victory for both sides, underscori­ng the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Kuwait and Qatar. He expressed optimism about Kuwait’s prospects in the qualifiers, showing confidence in the abilities of the Kuwaiti players to advance.

Addressing the issue of the ruling against the Federation’s president, Abdullah Al-Shaheen, Marafi stated, “We have yet to receive the official ruling from the Qatari judiciary regarding the Federation’s president. If and when the ruling is officially communicat­ed, we will adhere to internatio­nal and local legal protocols in handling the matter.”
