LOYAC concludes ‘Green Trail’ program sponsored by IHS
KUWAIT CITY, March 28: The LOYAC Foundation recently held a ceremony to honor 24 trainees who participated in the Green Trail Program, sponsored by “IHS,” at the foundation’s headquarters in the tribal school, reports Al-Jarida daily.
This edition of the program took place between February 2 and 18 last year and aimed to educate young people aged 16 to 22 about scientific facts related to agriculture, its various types, and their impact on climate change. The program, which lasted for one month with training sessions held four hours a day from Sunday to Wednesday, involved both theoretical lectures and practical field training conducted by specialists.
At the conclusion of the program, the trainees received certificates of completion for 70 environmental hours along with cash rewards. The field training included planting activities in the Sidra Reserve, where participants learned how to renew nutrient-deficient desert areas. Over 2,000 training hours were completed during the program, and around 1,000 plants were planted, including 200 palm trees and 500 apple trees.
Muhammad Al-Kulaib, the leader of renewable environmental programs at LOYAC, expressed satisfaction with the program’s success, emphasizing the significance of training youth to become future leaders and advocates for a sustainable environment. He highlighted the importance of the partnership between LOYAC and IHS, emphasizing their shared commitment to empowering youth and fostering environmental awareness.
Dr. Khaled Al-Banna, the Executive Director of IHS, expressed pride in sponsoring the Green Trail Program, emphasizing the company’s dedication to initiatives that promote environmental awareness and combat climate change. He emphasized the importance of empowering young people and reiterated the company’s commitment to contributing to a more sustainable future through such initiatives.
