‘Guards committed to get foreign expertise’
KUWAIT CITY, March 28: Deputy Chief of the National Guard Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf has confirmed the National Guard’s commitment to cooperate with brotherly and friendly countries in the security and military fields, reports AlSeyassah daily.
Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf made the statement when he visited the Computer and Languages Center at the National Guard, accompanied by Undersecretary Lieutenant General Eng Hashem Al-Rifai and senior officials.
In a press statement, the National Guard revealed that Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf was briefed on the courses offered by the center and the ‘Capabilities 22’ program; which aims to qualify members in various foreign languages like English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Russian and Turkish, as well as to send a number of them abroad to learn these languages until they master the skill of simultaneous translation.
It added Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf was also informed about the center’s teaching of sign language in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Center for the Deaf, as it held courses in various parts of the country. It affirmed the leadership’s keenness to provide full support for the qualification of members with the aim of keeping pace with development in various fields.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf praised the efforts of those in charge of the center in refining the skills of the members and granting the International Computer Driving License (ICDL). He said the National Guard focuses on cooperating with brotherly and friendly countries in all military and security fields, and seeks to build bridges of joint cooperation.
