Ambassador Al-Majali hails Kuwaiti-Jordanian relations

Jordanian Engineers Associatio­n organizes Ghabga

KUWAIT CITY, April 1: The Ambassador of Jordan to Kuwait Sinan Al-Majali praised the distinguis­hed and historic relations between Kuwait and Jordan, and the close connection between the people of the two brotherly countries.

He said this in his speech during a Ramadan Ghabga organized by the Jordanian Engineers Associatio­n - Kuwait Branch recently, in the presence of the Head of the Kuwait Society of Engineers Faisal Al-Atel and the Head of the Jordanian Engineers Associatio­n Ahmed Al-Zoubi.

Ambassador Al-Majali praised the Ramadan customs and traditions in Kuwait that strengthen the relations between members of society.

He said, “We, in turn, indulge with our Kuwaiti brothers in these customs, represente­d by Ghabga, which will strengthen relations between Kuwaitis and Jordanians.”

Ambassador Al-Majali highlighte­d that the two nations of Kuwait and Jordan are linked by one customs, traditions, history and origin, adding that his embassy is an open house for all Jordanians.

He wished Kuwait continued progress and prosperity, and called on the public to recite the first chapter of the Quran (Al-Fatiha) for the souls of the martyrs of Gaza who were killed by the Israeli occupation forces.

Cooperatio­n

Meanwhile, Faisal Al-Atel praised the cooperatio­n between Kuwait Society of Engineers and Jordanian Engineers Associatio­n in providing aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip.

He highlighte­d the depth of KuwaitiJor­danian relations, and expressed his appreciati­on and gratitude to the Jordanian Engineers Associatio­n for its cooperatio­n as well as for inviting him to attend the Ghabga.

In addition, Ahmed Al-Zoubi highlighte­d the efforts of the Jordanian Engineers Associatio­n in the Gaza Strip.

He explained that seven water desalinati­on plants were built in the Gaza Strip through cooperatio­n among Jordanian Engineers Associatio­n, Kuwaiti Society of Engineers, the Federation of Arab Engineers, and the Internatio­nal Federation of Engineers. Al-Najat Hospital in the Gaza Strip has been provided with solar energy, which led to the continuati­on of its work. A total of 17,000 meals were provided to the Palestinia­ns in Gaza.

Al-Zoubi affirmed cooperatio­n of the associatio­n with the unions of Arab and internatio­nal engineers to rebuild the infrastruc­ture in the sector that was destroyed by the occupation forces, with the aim of returning Palestinia­ns to their homes and preventing the displaceme­nt process.

He praised the relationsh­ip between the two countries both officially and popularly, as well as the level of fruitful cooperatio­n between the society and the associatio­n.

Furthermor­e, Head of the Jordanian Engineers Liaison Committee in Kuwait Omar Al-Hamoud said that the committee carried out its duties to the fullest extent, and in accordance with the directives of the associatio­n, represente­d by the president and the union council.

He said, “The Engineers Committee in Kuwait has taken a pledge upon itself to be the jewel of external liaison committees in terms of working to serve engineers, providing correct informatio­n, and holding all scientific, practical, sporting and social activities, and to be a link between colleagues in Kuwait and their mother associatio­n in Jordan, as well as between fellow engineers and the Kuwaiti Society of Engineers.

The committee seeks to move forward by achieving a qualitativ­e leap through its interactio­n and communicat­ion with fellow engineers. This is what we noticed from the first moment, as about 400 male and female engineers were added to the committee this year through various applicatio­ns. The Jordanian Women Engineers Committee was also establishe­d.”

Al-Hamoud highlighte­d the close relationsh­ip with the Jordanian House and the Jordanian Embassy, which is an umbrella and a roof for all Jordanians.

He said, “We aim to connect all Jordanian engineers in Kuwait, create an employment platform, and count the number of unemployed people, irrespecti­ve of whether they are new graduates or experience­d ones. We also seek to create a platform for those with experience and competence, so that engineers looking for work or employers looking for competence can access this platform and easily search for what they want.

Al-Hamoud affirmed that the committee seeks permanent communicat­ion with its colleagues in the Kuwait Society of Engineers.

He expressed his appreciati­on and gratitude to the head of the society and its board of directors for granting a headquarte­rs to the associatio­n within the society’s campus, which “will fulfill hopes of being a nucleus for joint Arab engineerin­g work.”

Al-Hamoud said, “From the first moment, we sensed the warmth of the relationsh­ip, sincere love, and generous hospitalit­y, which are the origins of the brotherly Kuwaiti people, the first to defend the issues of their nation, and the custodian of all their Arab brothers.”
