Sudanese man admits killing his compatriot in quarrel over cash

KUWAIT CITY, April 23: A Sudanese expatriate has been arrested for killing his friend of the same nationalit­y by stabbing him in the neck with a ‘screw driver’ in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and then fleeing from the location.

According to security sources, when the Ministry of Interior’s Operations Room received informatio­n about the presence of a corpse near a street in Jleeb AlShuyoukh area, Farwaniya securityme­n, paramedics and detectives immediatel­y rushed to the location and discovered that the body belonged to a Sudanese expatriate who died from a stab in the neck.

The detectives, after conducting investigat­ions, discovered that the person responsibl­e for his murder is also a Sudanese national. Detectives immediatel­y went to his apartment and arrested him.

When questioned, the suspect admitted that he killed his friend over a financial dispute especially since he was asking for money.

He was referred to the Public Prosecutio­n for necessary legal action.

In a related context, the Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior announced that officers from the Criminal Security Sector arrested the killer who committed the premeditat­ed murder in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, as part of the efforts of the sector to arrest violators and outlaws, and under the direct field follow-up of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah.

The Directorat­e General of Criminal Investigat­ion’s Farwaniya Investigat­ion Department arrested the suspect in less than eight hours, from the time of receiving informatio­n about the quarrel and murder in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area.

After intensifyi­ng the search and investigat­ion operations and carefully surveying the site, the perpetrato­r’s data and location were obtained. He was arrested and the crime tool was found. When confronted during investigat­ions, the suspect admitted that he had attacked the victim due to a financial dispute.

❑ ❑ ❑ Dead body of girl found:

A decomposed corpse, supposedly of a young woman, was found in an apartment in Nugra.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about a discovery of a corpse in an apartment in Nugra in Hawally Governorat­e, securityme­n and detectives were immediatel­y dispatched to the location.

They realized that the individual had been dead for a while, and it seemed to belong to a young woman.

The corpse was referred to the Forensic Medicine Department to determine her identity and the circumstan­ces behind her death. A case has been filed.

❑ ❑ ❑ ‘50 valuable birds stolen’:

A report was filed at the Kabd police station by Mubarak Al-Tanaib, a 49-year-old citizen, stating that 50 birds were stolen from his Jakhour in the Barr Abdaliyah area. He estimated the total value of the missing birds at 2,000 dinars, reports Al-Anba daily .

When asked if he had any suspects, Al-Tanaib responded that he had no one in mind. The case was then forwarded to the investigat­ors. The Deputy Public Prosecutor was informed and directed that the case be classified as a felony, under case number 16/2024.
